BEFORE YOU BUY

Miele Classic vs Compact:
which bag do you need?

Keep the word before the model number. Classic C1 takes GN bags; Compact C1 and Complete C1 take FJM. “Miele C1” by itself does not identify the right bag.

C2 also needs the full name

Complete C2 uses GN; Compact C2 uses FJM. Read the complete family name before following a shopping link. The table links to the source and package details for each match.

If you only know “C1” or “C2”

  1. Check the vacuum’s model identification and the cover of its manual for the full family name.
  2. If you only find a type code, use Miele’s bag and filter finder to identify the machine. Don’t guess from its color or a similar photo.
  3. Match that full name to the table, then check the bag type and pack size on the seller’s selected option.

What about Guard models?

This pilot covers Guard L1 and Guard S1 using TU. Guard M1 is outside this finder; use Miele’s lookup for that model. “Guard” alone is not a complete match.

Why do the boxes look different?

Listings may describe a four-pack, an XL pack or a kit with filters. Compare the bag-type letters and the actual contents. On our FJM page, for example, the Miele source is a four-pack and the Amazon option is an eight-pack; they are labeled separately.

These bag matches do not select a HEPA filter for you. Compare HEPA 30 and 50 matches, then check the exact model’s manual before buying a kit with an exhaust filter.
