Miele HEPA filters: SF-HA 30 vs 50 by vacuum model
Classic C1 uses the HEPA 30 family. Compact C1 uses the HEPA 50 family. Start with the full vacuum family name; “C1” or a GN/FJM bag code alone cannot select the right filter.
Which Miele HEPA filter fits?
This chart records the families named on Miele’s current US SF-HA 30-1 and SF-HA 50-1 product pages. It covers these ten families; an unlisted model needs a separate manual check.

Why a bag code is not enough
Our Miele bag finder puts Classic C1 and Complete C3 in the GN group, but their HEPA matches differ. Likewise, Complete C1 and Compact C1 both use FJM bags while belonging to different HEPA groups.
The bag, motor-protection filter and exhaust filter are separate parts. Check the contents of a service pack individually. A bag bundle is not automatically the right HEPA bundle for your vacuum.
SF-HA 30 versus SF-HA 30-1
Miele’s older SF-HA 30 product sheet (PDF) names the same Classic C1, Complete C1 and Dynamic U1 families and lists material number 09616270. The current SF-HA 30-1 page lists 12785370. Keep those product identities separate when comparing offers; packaging and indicator details may differ.
When should I replace it?
Miele’s current product pages recommend replacing these HEPA filters once a year. Follow your vacuum’s manual for installation, any filter-holder changes and indicators. We have not independently tested these products.
